POST-PRODUCTION – REFLECTION

21st Century Skills

Ways of Thinking (Creativity, Innovation, Critical Thinking, Problem Solving)

I had to learn how to use blender and unity by using tutorials. Then I had to learn to animate. Then another problem I faced was blender deleting all of the keyframes I had, so the animations were incomplete, and I had to go back and do it over again. I used my time wisely so I could try to complete everything I needed to get done. I used other media with zombies in it as a reference for the animations of the zombie.

Ways of Working (Communication & Collaboration)

The whole team would communicate regularly. We were always on top of updating our Trello board and communicating what we had done and haven’t yet. I needed a little extra help since I hadn’t used either blender or unity before, and I would ask whenever I had a question about something. We all would help each other out when there were issues, or we were just confused about something.

Tools for Working (Info & Media Literacy)

I used a lot of tutorials on the blender and unity websites to learn how to use them. Then I used animation tutorials on YouTube and the blender website, so I could learn to animate on blender.

Ways of Living in the World (Life & Career)

Working in a team like this helped with my communication skills and being able to ask for help when I need it.

Reactions to the Final Version

“Has great potential” -Nelly

“great start for ai” -Nelly

Self-Evaluation of Final Version

Simple- It was simple because there was one main job I had, that was to animate the enemy. It wasn’t too much and simple enough that I could get it done without previous knowledge.

Unexpected- Part of our game was unexpected by the idea of the main enemy, they were zombies, which is a pretty common trope in video games and television but we added that they are mushroom zombies, Shroombies. With the design as well it’s a little different.

Concrete- The game was concrete because we all had the same idea of what we were trying to achieve, so we were all together on the idea.
